RIVERWEAR/ FOOTWEAR- PLEASE SUPPLY YOUR OWN
Appropriate river wear (thermals or light wetsuit)
Appropriate water footwear
Oceania Rescue will provide all training equipment and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as PFDs and helmets.
You are welcome to bring your own PFD and helmet, but it will need to:

Be fit for task

CAMPING
Camping is recommended at Tully Gorge National Park- Recreation Park (Rec Park). This allows for optimum learning time and a more immersive experience. Camp fees are covered for participants. Facilities include:
Outdoor shower
Flushing toilets
Alternatively, accommodation can also be found in the town of Tully (30min away) or in Mission Beach (50 min drive from Tully Recreation Park). Please let us know if you are unable to camp.

SUN PROTECTION
Zinc is highly recommended for the face.
A cap may be used under the helmet, providing the helmet fit is not compromised.
TEMPERATURE
The Tully River is in tropical Far North Queensland, where the water temperature is quite comfortable all year round. Wearing thermals or a light wetsuit, however, is recommended as there is lot of swimming required.
SWIMMING REQUIREMENT
Participants need to be a confident swimmer.
